Harry Potter is aan mij voorbijgegaan, ik ben tenslotte geen tiener meer. Maar toen ik het bovenstaande las heb ik het laatste boek van J.K. Rowling, The Casual Vacancy, meteen besteld.
In aantocht is ook Cypherpunks, Freedom and the Future of the Internet van Julian Assange e.a. Je kan het nu alvast (met korting) bestellen. Het komt uit in november.

By the way, ik ben ook het eerste deel van de Ibis trilogie van Amitav Ghosh aan het lezen, Sea of Poppies. Zeer erudiet geschreven, dus met veel moeilijke woorden; het is dus aan te raden dit boek op een tablet te lezen, dan heb je het voordeel dat je meteen een verklarend woordenboek erbij hebt. Hoewel ook dat niet altijd het woord weet te vinden; maar in dat geval zijn er nog Wikipedia en Google. Wie voorbereid wil zijn kan ook de Chrestomathy (dus meer dan een verklarende woordenlijst) downloaden (naar beneden scrollen). Zo'n lijst heb je echt nodig. De verbasterde uitspraak van Bengali of Hind woorden door een Engelse loods stelt je vaak voor raadsels. Verder een zeer boeiend boek, trouwens.
