Alles gaat goed, mevrouw de markiezin. Er zijn wel een paar kleinigheden. Het kasteel is afgebrand, uw man heeft zelfmoord gepleegd, de stallen zijn vernield en uw hengst is omgekomen. Maar buiten dat, mevrouw de markiezin, gaat alles goed, gaat alles zeer goed.
De huidige situatie in het Westen (Im Westen nichts neues - oorlog is business) zou je kunnen zien als een persiflage op bovenstaand lied. Het gaat slecht met de Westerse economie zegt men. 't Is maar hoe je er tegenaan kijkt. Het gaat zeer goed met de Westerse economie, de banksters verrijken zich als nooit tevoren, fraude heerst alom, maar er is die kleinigheid van de stijgende werkloosheid en armoede. Pas over een paar jaar zal de catastrofe volkomen duidelijk worden. Pas dan zal het slecht gaan, zeer slecht.
Men bereidt zich allerlande voor op de komende opstand. Want een volk dat niets te eten heeft komt in opstand, dat is duidelijk. Als een regering babies laat creperen dan is opstand zelfs een noodzaak. Dat is een 'verwezenlijking' van de Anschluss van de oostbloklanden bij een neoliberaal Europa. Nog even en men laat ook in Nederland mensen creperen omdat ze het geld niet hebben voor hun medische verzorging.

MI5 en MI6 zijn de ondemocratische en geheime diensten die nu vooral bezig zijn met het omverwerpen van buitenlandse regeringen. Engeland heeft ook een groot aantal particuliere milities die ingezet worden om de Engelse economische belangen te 'verdedigen' in de hele wereld. Men verwacht blijkbaar ook in eigen land protesten en opstanden tegen hun eigen regime.

Laat ik niemand meer horen over de Stasi Bespitzelung vroeger in Oost-Duitsland, die zal nu in het verenigde Duitsland en de rest van Europa duizenden keren toegenomen zijn. De Stasi heeft er tenminste voor gezorgd dat in de DDR neonazi's geen aanslagen konden plegen zoals de fascisten dat nu doen in het verenigd Duitsland.
Onze regeringen zijn gewoon stromannen zijn voor de grote bedrijven, die in criminaliteit nauwelijks onderdoen voor de neoliberale en oorlogvoerende regeringsleiders. Het ontduiken van belastingen wordt aangeleerd op universiteiten, die tegenwoordig ook in handen lijken te zijn van de commercie. Het is een kwestie van graaien en kleinhouden van de bevolking.

What went wrong? A fundamental transformation in the investment strategies of major U.S. corporations is a big part of the story.
A generation or two ago, corporate leaders considered the interests of their companies to be aligned with those of the broader society.
Now mass layoffs to boost profits are the norm, while the expectation of a career with one company is long gone. This transformation happened because the U.S. business corporation has become in a (rather ugly) word “financialized.” It means that executives began to base all their decisions on increasing corporate earnings for the sake of jacking up corporate stock prices. Other concerns -- economic, social and political -- took a backseat. From the 1980s, the talk in boardrooms and business schools changed. Instead of running corporations to create wealth for all, leaders should think only of “maximizing shareholder value.”"

Het gaat niet langer om het in stand houden van een rechtvaardige maatschappij, maar om het in stand houden van de waarde van de aandelen, d.w.z. een virtuele welvaart creëren voor een kleine minderheid van banksters, terwijl de reële welvaart van de meerderheid opgeofferd wordt aan het in stand houden van de rijkdom van de minderheid. Ooit zal de bom barsten. Dat voorziet men nu reeds, daarom is controle en repressie voor dit misdadige systeem en zijn voortbestaan een noodzaak. Indien mensen niet meer te overtuigen zijn met normen en waarden en mooie verhalen, met een ethische fundering, dan helpt alleen brute macht. Die brute macht wordt al decennia uitgeoefend op de derde wereld. Nu is ook de heimat aan de beurt.
Bedrijven hebben de macht in handen en lobbyen om invloed. Van vrijheid van handel is allang geen sprake meer.

De scheuring binnen de neoconservatieve Edmund Burke Stichting is mede veroorzaakt door het Amerikaanse farmaceutische concern Pfizer. Dat bedrijf financierde de stichting met in totaal 470.000 dollar, in de hoop dat ze het politieke klimaat in Nederland in gunstige zin zou beïnvloeden."
Ik dacht ook te maken te hebben met een andere 1-aprilgrap toen ik dit las:
EuropaNu: "De Europese toezichthouder op de bankensector EBA gaat de extra kapitaaleisen voor banken mogelijk versoepelen, nu het Europese financiële vangnet voor in problemen geraakte eurolanden is opgehoogd. Dat heeft Ignazio Visco, president van de Italiaanse centrale bank, zaterdag gezegd."
Het minieme begrotingstekort in Nederland van ongeveer 1,5 % zou een groot probleem zijn, terwijl het begrotingstekort van onze banken dus mogelijk weer zou mogen stijgen tot over de 90%! Dat is absurd. Dat bezuinigingen gezien worden als oplossing is nog absurder, want ze verergeren de crisis alleen maar.
De gekte uit zich ook vaak in de roep om een sterke man. Je leest het ook op weblogcommentaren hier in Zuidoost. Het is de allochtoon die als zondebok aangeduid wordt, terwijl de grote schurken buiten schot blijven. Een vergelijking met de jaren dertig vorige eeuw dringt zich op.
Men maakt zich druk over de daling van de huizenprijzen (die nog wel een paar jaar zal duren), maar de oorzaak daarvan wordt niet aangepakt, namelijk het kunstmatig opdrijven van vastgoedprijzen door de vastgoedsector, daarbij gesteund door de overheid.
Er zijn diverse pogingen aan de gang om de discussie over een eerlijke economie aan te zwengelen.
DeRodeHoed: "Sinds de bijna meltdown van september 2008 zijn er heel wat woorden vuil gemaakt aan de stand van de economie. Structurele oplossingen zijn er nog niet gevonden."
Zolang men blijft denken binnen het raam van het neoliberalisme (neem Wim Kok als voorbeeld) dan kan het alleen maar erger worden. Het hele systeem is verrot en moet op de schop. Ik ben bang dat dat niet zonder slag of stoot mogelijk is. Beschavingen denderen gewoon door tot alles vernield is. Van gezond verstand is geen sprake meer in onze maatschappij. Het zijn belangen die tellen, belangen van een kleine onverantwoordelijke minderheid. Verzet is de enige zinnige optie.
